What is the U23 Asian Cup?
The U-23 Championship is a football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The first tournament was held in 2013 and the qualifying competition was held in 2012. This tournament is planned to be held every 2 years. The tournament in 2016 will also be an Asian qualifier for the football tournament at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. There are 15 tickets contested by 42 countries in the qualifying session to enter the final round.
Tournament format to be used
There are several tournament formats that will be used in the U23 Asian Cup championship tournament, including:
- Sixteen teams will compete in the finals, including the hosts who automatically qualify.
- Teams placed based on the results of the 2010 AFC U-19 Asian Cup.
- The tournament will last for 16 days.
Three or four stadiums in two cities will be needed to host the tournament.

The 6th edition of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup will be held in Qatar. And will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024. The entire series of matches will be played in four cities. Qatar hosted the second time after the 2016 U-23 Asian Cup.
