WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2023 OPENING
Nyalian - Saturday (03/06/2023), the Student Executive Board of Udayana University "Udayana Bangkit" Cabinet through the Department of Social and Environment held World Environment Day 2023 activities with the theme "Plant One Tree for Sustainable Welfare". World Environment Day 2023 was held as a first step to spark student awareness of the importance of protecting the environment around us, Ni Kadek Puspita Rani Swari as Head of Department of the Department of Social and Environment said that the purpose of holding World Environment Day 2023 was to educate and provide real action on the problem of the lack of green land in Nyalian Village.
The event began with the report of the chairman of the committee, Deni Hanorsian, by conveying the purpose of this activity, namely to commemorate World Environment Day which falls on June 5, where this event was held as a form of the practice of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service.
Raihan Faisal Muzhaffar as vice chairman of BEM also attended this event with his speech saying that a student plays a role as an agent of change, both small-scale and large-scale change. Small changes that students can make start with the village and themselves. With the World Environment Day 2023 activity, he hopes that he can make changes, be it changes in nature or changes in the environmental field that are able to provide positive values and good character.
Mr. Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana. MT., PhD as the vice rector for student affairs of Udayana University also attended this event. He in his speech conveyed on behalf of the Rector to express his great gratitude to the village for accepting students from BEM Udayana University to hold activities in Nyalian Village and asked for help from the village to guide the students who carried out these activities. In addition, he also said that the world should respect the environment by protecting nature such as planting just one tree is very meaningful for the world, he also added that if it is not us, who else will take care of it, said Mr. Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana. MT., PhD.
Mr. Cokorda Gde Putra as Perbekel of Nyalian Village also gave his speech by expressing his respect to all invitees who had attended the opening ceremony of World Environment Day 2023. He also expressed his gratitude to Udayana University for choosing Nyalian Village as a learning medium because students will become the next generation in the future. He also said that we must protect the environment, at this time we protect the environment for our lives and also for future generations.
This year BEM Udayana University chose Nyalian Village, Banjarangkan, Klungkung as the venue for World Environment Day 2023 activities. This activity also invited village officials, children of SDN Nyalian, junior high school children, PKK mothers' groups, village communities, lecturer representatives, and student body representatives of 13 faculties of Udayana University.
The opening of the World Environment Day 2023 event was opened by Mr. Cokorda Gde Putra accompanied by Mr. Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana. MT., PhD, Raihan Faisal Muzhaffar, Achmad Gian Akbar Dzulkarnain, Ni Kadek Puspita Rani Swari and Putu Teddy Bagas Wijaya, and Deni Hanorsian which was marked by symbolic planting of tree seedlings into pots, then continued with the handover of mementos in the form of garbage cans and also the awarding of certificates to Nyalian Village as the implementing village.
After that, the event continued with gymnastics which was attended by Nyalian Village Elementary School children guided by the 2023 World Environment Day Committee where after the gymnastics was carried out the event continued by watching an educational video with the theme "Dispose of Garbage in Its Place" and then conducted a quiz session for elementary school children, the activity continued with carrying out Clean Up around the Wantilan area of Nyalian Village by elementary school children led by the committee and volunteers of the Environmental Care and Conservation Action.
Followed by socialization activities to the children of SMPN 3 Banjarankan with the theme "3R For Better Life", this activity was guided by Desak Nyoman Tri Larasati as moderator with material presented by Dewi Kusumawati as a resource person on the first day. The material he delivered was how important waste sorting is according to the type and correct way of waste management.
After the socialization to the children of SMPN 3 Banjarangkan, the event continued with Clean Up as a form of implementing the knowledge that had been gained, the field and around wantilan became a place that had been determined by the committee as a cleaning area by all committees at the place where the activity took place.
Nyalian - Sunday (04/06/2023) On the second day of the World Environment Day 2023 activity, it began with a socialization activity to the PKK mother group in Nyalian Village with the theme "Create a Sustainable Environment Let's Plant Trees Together Again", this activity was guided by Ni Luh Putu Ceni Anggreni as moderator with material presented by I Nengah Sumarta as a resource person on the second day. The material he conveyed was that reforestation is an important activity to be carried out at this time, and reforestation should be planted in upstream areas and economically valuable crops such as ylang ylang flowers.
Setelah dilakukan sosialisasi, dilanjutkan dengan acara pembagian hadiah kepada peserta juara E-Poster Competition World Environment Day 2023 yang sudah terlaksana pada bulan Mei 2023 lalu. Kemudian, dilakukan penanaman bibit pohon Tabe Buyah dan pohon Ketapang Kencana di lapangan Desa Nyalian. Perbekel Desa Nyalian, Koordinator Bidang Kemasyarakatan BEM Udayana, kelompok ibu PKK Desa Nyalian, dan beberapa panitia World Environment Day 2023, serta peserta pemenang E-Poster Competition ikut serta dalam penanaman pohon ini.
At the closing ceremony, Deni Hanorsian as the head of the committee said that the last activity in Nyalian Village aims to commemorate environmental day which coincides on June 5, 2023. The hope of this World Environment Day activity is to be able to practice and implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Community Service and to provide benefits for the people of Nyalian Village.
Achmad Gian Akbar Dzulkarnain as the Coordinator for Community Affairs in his closing remarks expressed his gratitude to the Perbekel Desa Nyalian because the World Environment Day 2023 event has been able to run well and he also said that small things such as planting trees that we have done are indeed small activities, but they have a great impact on us humans.
Mr. Cokorda Gde Putra in his closing remarks expressed his gratitude to the students for choosing Nyalian Village as the venue for the event, he also hoped that the collaboration between Udayana University could continue to take place in Nyalian Village. After that, the World Environment Day 2023 event was then closed by the Nyalian Village Perbekel with the symbolic planting of literacy corner signs in the Nyalian Village field. Perbekel Desa Nyalian also gave a memento to the World Environment Day 2023 committee in the form of a capil, where the capil is one of the MSMEs in Nyalian Village.
